Originally from New Hampshire, Nathan Saltmarsh Caswell began his professional career early, gripping on b-level disaster films while studying at Emerson College in Boston.
After his student film The Unbelievable Truth premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, Nathan moved to the city and quickly began to edit feature films and large commercial campaigns for the likes of Scion, Ford, AT&T and MetLife. As an editor, Nathan would often contribute to story development, and he parlayed this skill into writing and directing spots for Under Armour.
In the summer of 2012, Nathan teamed up with Jeremiah Zagar to direct the short documentary Always A Fire, about former New York Giant Chad Jones—a star athlete whose promising professional career was put on hold by a tragic car accident. The film was a viral sensation, racking up over a million views in its first week of release.
More recent directorial work includes Constellation Quilt for Haptic Lab, which helped the upstart design studio sell more than $140,000 in merchandise and the This is Runnovation campaign for New Balance, co-directed with Jeremiah Zagar.
